Lactopad(tm)
Lactopad is a bacteriocin especially developed for topic treatment of mild or moderate cases of Acne. It contains an anti-microbial peptide produced from Enterococcus faecalis SL5 and is a good natural alternative to antibiotic treatment like Tetracycline, Erythromycin, etc.
Lactopad also contains metabolic products (lactic acid, antibiotic substances) elaborated by the lactic acid bacteria culture and is lyophilized to dry powder by biotechnology.
Lactopad has a strong inhibition effect on Propionibacterium acnes. In contrast to antibiotic compounds, anti-microbial peptides have a limited biological property and kill only target microbes selectively.

Mechanism: Bacteriocin has a simple primary structure that is composed of polypeptide chain. The hydrophobic aminoterminal end of the peptides interacts with the cell membrane and makes a hole, and it kills the target microbes by changing the membrane potential.
