Bacteriocins
Bacteriocins are antimicrobial peptides produced from tyndallized or heat killed lactic acid bacteria. They are grown in optimized conditions, and then the whole culture is lyophilized to a dry powder, including the culture media which contains the metabolites produced during growth. In contrast to antibiotic compounds, antimicrobial peptides are very specific and will only attack target microbes.
