Analysing
DuoLac are dual coated bacteria that have a coating specifically designed not to break down and release the bacteria before they arrive in our intestines. Whilst this ensures the viability of the bacteria are maintained in conditions where other bacteria do not remain viable, it also can cause some problems in evaluation and enumeration of the bacteria. The attached procedure is therefore given as the recommended method and media that should be used to ensure full release of the bacteria, and accurate enumeration of the viable cell numbers.
